Thanks for your feedback on that 🙏, we'll add an option for the default interaction mode to the next release.

It doesn't make sense to have an option for the default user privileges and then not have this option. Please add this so we don't have to go through the same steps over and over again every time we start a new meeting. Spotlight mode is interactive enough for many people. This would make it so that it is safe to keep the default user privileges set to "user", which would save steps every time we start a meeting.

I really want this feature so that I don't need to change my coworker's interaction mode to Spotlight every time we do rally-style pair programming.

This would be a ridiculously helpful setting to have. Not having this setting makes the option to have user privileges default to anything other than spectator not helpful for us. We are a very small team and we don't only use Drovio for literally working together on the same computer. We use it for all our meetings and live communication. Most of the time we don't have any need to control each other's computer, but still want to be able to point things out on the screen being shared using the spotlight feature. It is also easy to accidentally control the other person's computer when you thought you were controlling your own or just trying to point something out on the screen.
It is possible to configure a session so that each person is limited to the spotlight interaction, but you have to remember to change it at the start of each session, which is easy to forget. It really should be a setting.
Currently what we do is set the default to spectator, and then after the session starts change the interaction style to spotlight. Then the host changes each person to a user. What we would like to do is have everyone default to a user and the spotlight interaction style. That way we can just start sessions without fear that we are giving someone control over our computer or having to change settings again at each session.
We are paying for this product because it is by far the best thing out there, and this is by far the most important missing feature.

This is a critical feature - right now, every time my collaborator joins, they accidentally click randomly & issue random keyboard shortcuts cause they're still working on "their" stuff.
We need a mode where they default to spotlight or draw, but can then "upgrade" to control - control is almost never needed, whereas being able to point/draw is critical.
